Rachel Nace, President of ITM |
Ms. Rachel began her study of dance in 1982. She danced for 11 years in pre-professional companies and danced professionally for one year. Rachel has studied with many companies and teachers throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. Rachel has taught dance to persons age 3 - adult since 1991 and has taught dance at Harcum College. She served as Ballet Mistress for Greater York Youth Ballet and has guest taught and choreographed at regional ballet companies. She completed master teacher John White's Teaching Program in July of 2003. Ms. Rachel is the Director of the Dance Program at Inspiration to Movement, Inc. She teaches Intermediate and Advanced classes and the Adult Program. Rachel began her "traditional" Pilates study in 1997 and earned her Teaching Certificate of Completion in 1999. She served as a training teacher for a Teacher Training Program in Rosemont, PA. After injuries from two car accidents left her in pain and with decreased range of motion, Ms. Nace began studying the Ron Fletcher Work in 2001. In November of 2005 she earned her National Certification from the Pilates Method Alliance with Gold status. Rachel earned her certificate from the Ron Fletcher Program of Study in January of 2006 as the first Qualified Teacher in the state of Pennsylvania and on the East Coast. Rachel is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance, National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Ron Fletcher Company. Ms. Nace has had experience working with many different types of bodies and many different pathologies. In 2000 Rachel began her study of Massage Therapy, Anatomy and Physiology, and Pathology. In 2001 Rachel Nace studied and completed a 109 hour program on Corrective Medical Massage. She earned her Diplomas in Professional Massage Therapy and Medical Massage Therapy from Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy (now Cortiva Institute) and her National Certification in Massage and Bodywork in 2001. In 2002 Rachel completed a four-level program on Therapeutic Touch. Ms. Nace is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She has taken courses in Cranio-sacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, Visceral Manipulation, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Kinesiology, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, Chakra Therapy, Advanced Sports Massage and Ligament Therapy for Common Injuries. Ms. Nace enjoys learning and continues to widen her spectrum of knowledge. |
About the Teaching Staff of ITM |
Erin Hueber, Classical Ballet Teacher Ms. Erin has been studying dance since 1984 at various schools in Philadelphia. She has been teaching and substitute teaching dance since 1992. Ms. Erin has taught dance at Inspiration to Movement, Inc. since 2003 where she continues to study in the adult ballet program and the Pilates program. She completed the Beginning and Intermediate Vaganova Syllabus Teaching Program with master teacher John White in July of 2005. She teaches the Creative Movement, Pre-ballet, Beginning and Intermediate Ballet Levels and the Adult Program. Ms. Erin enjoys working with children as well as adults to guide them through the process of learning the technique and art of ballet. |

Amanda Mitchell, Apprentice Pilates Teacher Ms. Amanda has studied dance since she was age 5. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Dance With Me Studio in Southampton, PA teaching students ages 3 – 17 and she continues to study at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. She began studying Pilates in 2004 and has completed a comprehensive Pilates teaching program in Rosemont, PA as well as the Ron Fletcher Towel Licensing Workshop. Her area of special interest is working with individuals requiring rehabilitation from injury or illness. She currently trains world class professional ballroom dance competitors, as well as individuals maintaining optimal health through a continued dedicated practice of Pilates. In 2007 Ms. Amanda began an intense study of the Pilates work with Rachel Nace at ITM and joined the staff of ITM in November,2007. |
Lauren Mitchell, Apprentice Pilates Teacher Ms. Lauren has been studying dance since the age of 5. She is currently a faculty member at the Dance With Me Studio in Southampton, PA teaching hip hop and jazz to students ages 7 – 17. She continues to study with world class choreographers (Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, Brian Thomas, Darrin Henson and more) through the famous Pulse Workshops and at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Ms. Lauren began studying Pilates in 2004 and completed a comprehensive Pilates Teaching program in Rosemont, PA as well as the Ron Fletcher Towel Licensing workshop. With a strong background in the art of performing and teaching dance, coupled with a natural ability to understand and communicate the principles of Pilates movement, Lauren is strives to facilitate her students’ progress and improve their well being. Lauren began studying Pilates and the Ron Fletcher Work with Rachel Nace at ITM in 2007 and continues to study and grow in her knowledge of the work. Ms. Lauren joined the staff at ITM in December, 2007. |
Candace Gordon, Classical Ballet Teacher, Student Pilates Teacher (currently on Maternity Leave) Ms. Candace studied at School of American Ballet for six years. During that time she appeared in many of the New York City Ballet's productions. She also had the privilege of working with George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins. Later as a teenager she studied at The American Ballet Theatre School, New York School of Ballet and, while at Columbia University, at Barnard College. Since 2001 she has been studying at Inspiration to Movement, Inc in the adult program and in the Pilates program. Ms. Candace joined the staff at ITM in 2006 and teaches the Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Beginning Ballet levels and the Adult Program. Ms. Candace began to learn to teach the Pilates Work in March 2007. She is currently working to complete the Comprehensive Program at ITM under the direction of Rachel Nace. Candace completed the Ron Fletcher Towel Licensing course in August 2007. |
